About
NXT Event is a local event platform that helps you discover what's going on in your region — from meetups and workshops to concerts and community events — so you can connect with people and experiences that matter to you.
How it started
In 2024, wanting to connect more with others around shared interests, founder Hendrik looked at event platforms in his home region and was disappointed: only a handful of events per platform, and smaller meetups and donation-based or amateur events were almost nowhere to be found. While traveling in 2025, he saw how much communities can thrive when one central event platform is widely used — and when it’s not only for big commercial events. Back home in 2026, a strategy and team came together to tackle what existing platforms were still missing in the region.

- Boredom? If you often feel like “there’s nothing going on,” we believe it’s usually a transparency problem, not a lack of events. One place to find the most relevant events changes that.
- FOMO? If you don’t want to miss the best events, we want you to see them in one place — filtered for example by topic, location, date range, and cost.
- Lack of participants? Event creators get more participants when events are easier to find and better promoted. So it’s worth visiting and creating events for more people.
- Lack of creators? When it’s easier to create events, more people can become creators — and the event culture becomes more vibrant for everyone.
Mission
We’re building the platform with the most event data (through automated collection and partnerships with creators), the best tools to find events, and the best tools to create them — so discovery and creating are both simple and powerful.

What we offer
Currently we focus on discovery and listing; more features for creators and communities are already on the way.
- Smart search, filter by category, location, date range, and cost (free, donation, paid). Browse by location, save favorites, and use as an app (PWA) on the home screen on any device.
- Creators can add and edit events as well as event series. We aim for more partnerships with creators, venues and communities.
How we're different
Big platforms often prioritize commercial or large events in big cities. Small meetups, donation-based events, and amateur or community-run activities etc. in less densely populated regions get little visibility. We see these events as the heart of event culture and change that: more transparency, more variety, and a single place where “what’s going on here” - really everything - is easy to find.
Team
Hendrik Staack founded NXT Event and drives strategy and technical development. The team (Design, Programming, Marketing, Community Management & Social Media etc.) is growing with people who care about local events and strong communities.
